Open Images & Videos
Snapr can edit existing files as well as new captures. Open an image for annotations and background decoration, or a compatible MP4 for timeline editing.
Open a file#
- In the tray menu, open Open Files and choose the image/video option.
- In an editor or Capture History, use the file-open button.
- Drag an image, compatible MP4, or
.snaprfile from your file manager onto Capture History.
Imported images and videos open directly in the editor and are also added to Capture History. Snapr copies the media into a new workspace; importing does not move or overwrite the original file. Use a different export destination if you want to keep the original unchanged.
Supported files#
- Images: PNG and JPEG (
.png,.jpg,.jpeg). - Video: MP4 with one H.264 video track and, optionally, one AAC-LC audio track. Not every
.mp4file is compatible. Videos with rotation or scaling metadata are not currently supported. - Snapr workspaces:
.snaprarchives, or workspace folders opened through the tray's workspace-folder option.
Imported videos do not contain Snapr's recorded pointer/input events, so automatic zoom suggestions and recorded-cursor effects are not available. You can still add manual zooms and annotations.
